If Walmart Won’t Take Your Printer Back, Don’t Throw It At The Customer Service Rep

When we advise unhappy consumers to escalate their customer service complaints, we mean to take your issue to a store manager or someone at corporate HQ. We don’t suggest that you ramp up your anger by smashing things and tossing printers at store employees.

This lesson was apparently lost on a Punta Gorda, FL, man who unsuccessfully attempted to return an HP printer to Walmart on Tuesday.

When the store refused to accept the return because it was outside the product’s return window and he didn’t have a receipt, employees say the customer got a bit rage-y, picking up the printer he was trying to return and throwing it to the ground.

The man then allegedly picked up the printer box and hurled it at the poor Walmart workers behind the customer service desk.

On his way out of the store, post-tantrum, employees say the man chest-bumped and made threats to another Walmart worker and then kicked over a loss-prevention device, causing around $500 in damage to the store.

The man made it out of the store without being arrested but was later found at this apartment by police, who arrested and charged the unhappy shopper with battery, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
