Feds: Strippers Drugged Rich Men, Scammed Them Out Of At Least $200K At Clubs

A few months back we heard about a doctor who claimed he’d been drugged and scammed out of a chunk of money at strip clubs, and we’ll admit — we were skeptical at the time. But federal officials say rich men have been targeted by a group of New York City strippers, claiming that the women went around drugging men to get them to spend big at strip clubs.

Authorities with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the New York Police Department say the crew squeezed a combined $200,000 out of three men, at least, reports the Associated Press, plying them with drinks spiked with illegal synthetic drugs like the one the young people call “molly.”

Once they had the men wasted at clubs, officials said the strippers would run up huge charges on their credit cards while they were incapacitated.

Law enforcement officials arrested four women described as professional strippers on charges including grand larceny, assault and forgery, and a strip club manager surrendered today.

The arrests happened after an undercover investigation that found the women also used the tranquilizer ketamine on men after arranging dates at fancy bars in the NYC area, and then drove their victims to the city to visit clubs.

When it was all over, the men said they’d wake up in their cars or in hotel rooms, their minds wiped of the night’s events to varying degrees. And they claimed strippers would threaten to go public with stories if they tried to dispute their bills.

“The defendants were banking on the victims being too afraid to contact the police, but as the indictment and arrests show, they made a serious miscalculation,” Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan said.

One club sued the cardiologist last month over $135,303 in unpaid services, saying he showed up there freely on four separate occasions. He disputed those charges, saying he’d been drugged.
