Man’s Kickstarter Goal For A Bowl Of Potato Salad Brings In Over $22K In Pledges

If you ever feel like there’s no one out there that supports your dreams and deepest desires to better yourself and learn new things, things you didn’t think you could do before, you’re problem wrong. Because even a guy with the simple goal of making potato salad for the first time managed to get more than $22,000 (as of this writing to fulfill his destiny).

It all started when a guy with a dream posted his goal on Kickstarter — to raise $10 to make a bite to eat.

“Basically I’m just making potato salad. I haven’t decided what kind yet,” he wrote (h/t to DeathAndTaxes).

But then the money started coming in, he expanded the project. More than $35 and he’d make a quadruple batch, and at $75 he’d host a party.

It still remains to be seen how he’s going to deliver on promised rewards for all those people — for only $3 you get a bite of potato salad, while a $10 donation gets you the choice of an ingredient.

Things have built from there — as of his last stretch goal added as his campaign before it reached the $3,000 mark, he promised:

“My kitchen is too small! I will rent out a party hall and invite the whole internet to the potato salad party (only $10 and above will be allowed in the kitchen)! The internet loves potato salad! Let’s show them that potato salad loves the internet!!”

Sounds like someone’s going to be making a lot of bites of potato salad when this whole thing is said and done. He might need some dedicated potato salad elves — and everyone knows their services are not cheap.
