You’ve been staring at that pile of money in your money room forever, it feels like, and George Clooney simply refuses to answer your calls. What’s someone with a hefty lump of cash supposed to buy for the loved one who has everything? If you’ve got $425,000 to spare, you could give the gift of a trip to the Oscars from Neiman Marcus. Or at least, you can get in the vicinity of the Oscars and play dress-up.
Every year, Neiman Marcus releases its holiday gift book featuring 10 fantasy gifts, which are things that are actually for sale but will likely never bought by the likes of you or me in our lifetimes.
The $425,000 Oscars package is actually more like a trip to Hollywood with a hotel suite in Beverly Hills, free food, a personal stylist, loaner jewelry and a gift card to — where else? — Neiman Marcus for each of two guests before you head off to the Vanity Fair after party.
It’s just perfect “for someone who wants to live the celebrity life but hasn’t had the opportunity to,” the company’s VP of corporate communications tells the Dallas Morning News.
Also on the list of things that will never be in your possession: Designing a personal fragrance with a master perfumer in Paris and having it bottled in 14-karat gold bottles for $475,000, a $35,000 cocktail shaker that ostensibly pours cocktails mixed from the fountain of youth, a $300,000 custom mini race track and $55,000 worth of linens.
In other news, looks like I’ll be hand-making Christmas ornaments sourced from the discount bin at the craft store again this year.
