Don’t be fooled — age is nothing but a number, and you do not want to cross a youngster protecting her business. Or rather, two middle schoolers who managed to fend off a pair of older, would-be robbers allegedly trying to steal their Girl Scout cookies out from under them.
Two teenagers are accused of trying to boost a “wagon full of Girl Scout cookies” from two girls, aged 12 and 13, The Smoking Gun reports.
According to police in Anne Arundel, MD, an 18-year-old man and his 17-year accomplice went after the cookies while the girls were selling them on a corner in broad daylight. They then allegedly ran off toward a getaway car with their ill-gotten gains.
But not to be thwarted, one of the girls ran after the suspects (a move that likely struck fear into the hearts of her parents afterward, am I right?) and “grabbed the wagon that contained the cookies,” whereupon one of the suspects let go of the cookie wagon and jumped into the getaway car driven by the 17-year-old.
“The girls yelled out that the suspect was taking their cookies,” police said, prompting neighbors to get in a vehicle and follow the getaway car while someone called 911.
Police caught up with the suspects at a gas station and arrested them on charges of misdemeanor theft, after the girls fingered them in a lineup as the would-be robbers.
