Keurig Recalls 7.2 Million MINI Plus Coffee Machines For Burn Concerns

newUnit20141222 After receiving around 200 reports — including 90 cases involving burn-related injuries — of hot liquid overflowing from Keurig MINI Plus coffee makers, the company has issued a recall of more than 7 million of the machines in North America.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves MINI Plus Brewing System machines with model number K10 (previously labeled model number B31).

If you have a MINI Plus machine, look at the underside of it and check out the number on the white barcode sticker. If it falls into any of the following ranges of numbers, then it’s part of this recall:

All recalled units were produced in China and Malaysia for Vermont-based Keurig. They were sold at many large national retailers, including Kmart, Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart between Dec. 2009 and July 2014.

Owners of recalled machines should contact Keurig for a free repair. They can call (844) 255-7886 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET on Saturday or Sunday. Owners can also go to this page on the Keurig website for more information.
